OUR SERVICES

  • GARDEN COACHING

    Starting from $85/hour

Sometimes the most useful thing is a fresh set of eyes and an honest conversation. Coaching sessions are designed for gardeners who are doing their own work but could use a knowledgeable sounding board. We’ll walk your garden together, talk through what you’re seeing, and explore ideas at your own pace. Whether you want help identifying a plant, thinking through a design decision, or figuring out why something isn’t thriving, coaching is flexible and focused on what matters most to you that day.

  • SITE CONSULTATION

Single area or bed: from $175 | Multi-area: from $300 | Full property: from $500

A thorough, in-depth look at your landscape. We’ll walk your property together, defining your goals, identifying problem areas, and taking stock of what’s already there. Drawing on a background in architecture and spatial design, deepened by ongoing study in native plant ecology, I’ll assess light, soil, and moisture conditions zone by zone and offer practical, site-specific ideas rooted in the ecology of your region. After the visit, you’ll receive a tailored plant palette, recommended resources, and techniques you can put to work right away. Scope and pricing reflect the size and complexity of your property.

  • NATIVE GARDEN DESIGN

Full property from $1,800 | Smaller projects priced by scope

Design fee. Plants and installation quoted separately.

A custom planting design grounded in your site’s ecology and shaped by your vision. My background in architecture at Harvard’s Graduate School of Design shapes how I think about a landscape: not just what grows, but how a garden feels to move through, how it frames space, and how it changes across seasons. Working from a thorough understanding of your property’s light, soil, moisture, and ecoregion, I’ll create a design that supports biodiversity while reflecting your aesthetic goals. Every plan is built around the relationships between plants, pollinators, the broader ecosystem, and the people who live alongside it.

Your design includes a scaled planting plan, plant-by-plant specifications, quantities and spacing, sourcing notes from trusted Michigan native nurseries, estimated plant costs, and seasonal interest sequencing. A pre-design meeting is included to review your plant palette and priorities before drawing begins. One round of revisions is included.

Optional add-ons: plant sourcing and delivery, phased installation, seasonal maintenance.

  • RAIN GARDEN DESIGN

Starting from $1,200 | Priced by scope

Design fee. Plants and installation quoted separately.

One of the most functional and beautiful additions to a native landscape. Designed to slow, filter, and absorb stormwater runoff, a well-sited rain garden protects local waterways while creating rich habitat for pollinators and wildlife. As a certified Master Rain Gardener through Washtenaw County Water Resources, I’ll work with you to site, size, and plant a rain garden suited to your conditions. This is a design service. I bring knowledge of native plants, planting zones, and rain garden principles to create a plan that is ecologically sound and beautifully planted. Site engineering or grading, if needed, may require coordination with a licensed professional.

Your design includes a site assessment, sizing and placement recommendations, a planting plan with native species suited to wet and transitional zones, and sourcing notes.

Optional add-ons: plant sourcing and delivery, installation.

  • PLANT SOURCING AND DELIVERY

Priced by phase and scope | Contact for a quote

Once your design is complete, I’ll handle the plant shopping. I source from trusted Michigan native nurseries, prioritizing locally grown, straight species wherever possible, and coordinate pickup and delivery to your property. Sourcing and delivery are organized in phases to align with your installation schedule, so the right plants arrive at the right time.

  • INSTALLATION

Starting from $75/hour | Phased projects quoted by scope

Bringing your garden to life. Installation is offered in phases that align with the season, plant availability, and your priorities, so the project unfolds at a pace that works for you. Each phase is scoped and quoted before work begins, so there are no surprises. I bring the same design training and hands-on ecological understanding to the field that informs every plan, making real-time decisions that support the long-term health of your garden.

  • SEASONAL MAINTENANCE

Starting from $55/hour | Contact for a seasonal quote

Native gardens are dynamic. They change with the seasons and occasionally need a thoughtful hand, and not just any hand. Knowing what to cut back and when, what to leave standing for overwintering insects, and how to edit without losing the naturalistic character of the garden requires a different kind of knowledge than conventional landscaping.

I offer seasonal maintenance for native gardens, whether I designed them or not. Services include weeding, bed definition, plant division, shaping, and pruning, always with an eye toward preserving the ecological value and visual character of your planting. If you have a native garden that needs someone who understands it, I’d love to help.

Visits can be scheduled seasonally or as needed.

  • INVASIVE SPECIES REMOVAL

    Contact for a quote

Removing invasive plants is one of the most impactful things you can do for native habitat. I offer small-scale manual removal of herbaceous invasives, including Garlic Mustard and Canada Thistle, that crowd out native plants and disrupt local ecosystems. Manual removal means no herbicides, no chemicals, and no disruption to the surrounding plantings. Removal is most effective when paired with a planting plan that establishes natives in their place, closing the door on reinvasion.
